Vasilikos is an area in the Southeast Zante's peninsula. The beaches of Vasilikos are famous for their natural beauty. The sandy beaches are quiet, with clean shallow waters, really ideal for families with young children. Some of the beaches are also nesting grounds for the famous loggerhead turtles, an endangered species of the Ionian Islands. That is why this area is of a great environmental significance and at times different parts are not accessible to visitors. Water-sports are not allowed in some part of the peninsula so as not to disturb the turtles. There are organized beaches where you can enjoy many facilities, sun-beds, refreshments, nearby taverns, everything a family needs for relaxed holidays.
