It is actually the first area in Crete to developed tourism and therefore is very well organized with everything that a visitor may need. Agia Pelagia is a very green peninsula. There you will find Capsis, the first family tourist resort of Crete, Ligaria Cove and Mononaftis Bay. Each of these places has beaches with soft yellow sand and crystal clear shallow warm waters. The sea is extremely calm in Agia Pelagia because the bays are protected from waves created by north summer winds, that are called Meltemia.
