Aquaworld is the first aquarium in Crete. It is located in the port of Hersonissos near Heraklion. The park displays local sea life and reptiles from all around the world. The unique feature of the park is the hands-on interaction with many of the animals. Have your kids ever hold a snake before? Getting close to the animals is much encouraged here. Most of the animals at Aquaworld were rescued or were injured animals. The park is open from April until October from Monday to Saturday. The entrance fee for adults and teenagers is 6 Euro. Children pay 4 Euro. The park is a private initiative and by visiting Aquaworld you also help funding the private initiative of people that love the animals and want to take care of them.
